WHO IS COACH BRIAN?


For over 30 years, I’ve been deeply engaged in the study of human nutrition, driven by a quest to understand how our dietary choices shape our health and well-being. Growing up, I followed the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.), but I began to experience health issues at 13 years old, which intensified as I got older in the mid-1990s. These early challenges ignited my passion for learning more about nutrition and exploring healthier alternatives.

In the 90s, I read influential books like The Sugar Blues and What Are The Odds? These readings sparked an extreme deep curiosity about the discrepancies between media, academia, and the mainstream medical system. What Are The Odds? in particular taught me that what people think is true isn’t necessarily true in reality, deepening my desire to uncover the real truths behind health and nutrition.

A significant influence on my approach to health came from my dad and grandmother. My grandmother, who lived to 102 years old, practiced old country living techniques, including canning, home gardening, and a healthy skepticism of conventional medicine and college-educated so-called "experts." One unique practice she followed was adding wood ashes to her garden soil compost, a tradition she learned from her parents. Although she wasn’t aware of its specific health benefits, it was an integral part of her gardening routine and what I believe contributed to her remarkable longevity.

My personal health journey took a critical turn when I sought help for depression and was prescribed Paxil. The medication made me ill, and I abruptly stopped taking it after a few short days. This experience sparked a deeper curiosity about the mainstream medical system. I picked up a book called The Antidepressant Fact Book, and reading it cover to cover was a revelation. It opened my eyes to the oddities and limitations of conventional M.D. directed treatments.

My journey was also marked by a long-standing battle with nicotine addiction. I was addicted for 38 years, but I overcame this challenge by applying what I had learned through my wholistic health studies. This personal victory further solidified my belief in the transformative power of a wholistic approach to health.

I struggled for many years with depression, anxiety, and extreme food cravings. Through decades of research, trial and error, and comparing how nutritional supplements, foods, and common household cleaning products affected my health and how I felt, I struggled to find complete relief. I was still not feeling 100%, but I was making excellent progress and learned so much that friends and family began to notice my expanding knowledge and experience and encouraged me to share what I had learned. After careful consideration, I decided to turn this passion into a meaningful career. After obtaining my certification in Wholistic Health Coaching, I was finally able to heal and transform my health. After all of this, it was clear I had found the right teachers.

Now, after decades of struggle, research, and full health recovery, I believe I have reached the "end of the rabbit hole," so to speak. I am ready to share what I’ve learned and help others gain control of their health challenges as I have. My specialization in understanding food cravings and managing them without relying solely on willpower offers my clients unique and life-changing strategies.
